M. Todd Sams, MPT, OCS, CSCS

Todd received both his Master of Physical Therapy (1994) and his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Puget Sound. Todd’s study of Manual Therapy, which focuses on hands-on joint and soft tissue mobilization, began with the North American Institute of Manual Therapy. He supplements this knowledge with an Orthopedic Clinical Specialty certification and continues to work toward a Manual Therapy Certification, with an expected completion date in 2006.

For the eight years prior to joining 3Dimensional Physical Therapy in 2005, Todd managed an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Federal Way where he successfully treated most orthopedic injuries with extensive work with neck and back injured patients. He is able to use his manual skills to mobilize the joint or soft tissue dysfunction, normalizing movement to the area prior to strengthening the area.

Todd also has an extensive background in work conditioning and administering Physical Capacity Evaluations, which identify the functional and physical performance abilities of an injured worker compared to the job demands of his or her occupation, thus, experiencing all stages of the recovering injured worker. He knows what it takes to get his patients back to work effectively and safely. Outside of the injured worker arena, Todd treats and works with athletes, keeping them on the field and in shape to prevent injuries and promote success.
